MAGNI 551
Fastener Coatings

Product Description

Magni 551 is a duplex fastener coating system that combines electroplated zinc and Elisha EMC chrome-free passivation with a chrome containing aluminum-rich organic topcoat. The electroplated zinc layer provides sacrificial protection of the steel substrate while the Magni topcoat creates a durable barrier. The EMC layer is a mineral passivation that provides a tie coat between the zinc and the Magni topcoat. The EMC tie coat is an excellent adhesion promoter and it greatly enhances corrosion resistance. Magni 551 is engineered with integrated friction modifiers to eliminate the need for sealers or post coating lubricants. This feature ensures repeatable torque/tension characteristics in assembly. Magni 551 provides superior product performance in fewer layers than comparable finishes. Fewer processing steps results in improved quality and reduced costs. Magni 551 is designed for use on fasteners such as nuts, bolts, and other miscellaneous hardware.

Magni 551 can be applied via dip/spin, dip/drain, or spray application methods.
